Minor in Gerontology
Specialized training in aging is available through an Undergraduate Minor in Gerontology offered by the Department of Human Development & Family Studies. The Minor offers undergraduate students preparing for careers in aging the opportunity to pursue a formally recognized program of study in gerontology. The 18-credit minor is open to all undergraduate matriculating students within the University of Connecticut, and consists of both course work and field experiences working in community settings serving older adults. Successful completion of the minor requires that a student earns a C grade (2.0) or better in each of the courses for the minor.
