Adult Development and Aging
The Adult Development and Aging concentration focuses on the study of changes and constancies during adulthood and old age. Areas of study include physical, cognitive, and personality processes involved in aging as well as the role and status of the elderly. Family relationships are considered as factors in the lives of aging persons and as factors in providing care. A major resource for students concentrating in this area is the Department's Center for the Study of Aging and Human Development, a frequent sponsor of workshops, seminars, and colloquia on aging related issues. For more information, visit the Department's Advising Center in the Family Studies Building and get a copy of the full descriptions there.
